Mr. President (White House Series, #1)Mr. President by Katy Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This 2016 Presidential Election has been CRAZY!!!! Trump vs. Clinton has given us all a migraine of epic proportions! It is like watching a train wreck but you can't stop watching it from happening. But, there is FINALLY a Presidential candidate that you will want to vote for --- Matthew Hamilton!

Can I please vote for Matthew Hamilton?!?! Too bad that he isn't on the actual ballot. Maybe I need to write him in....

Katy Evans did an amazing job with Mr. President. I loved this book so much. I can't get over it! I am having major book hangover. And I kind of want to shake Katy at the same time. That ending.... UGH!!! I can't believe I have to wait for more Matt & Charlotte. I need January 2017 to be here now so that I can read Commander In Chief!

I love that Matt & Charlotte started their relationship of sorts when they were kids.

"If you decide to run for president, you have my vote. I'd even be willing to join your campaign."
~ Katy Evan, Mr. President (White House Series #1)

Matthew (just Matt) is the son of an assassinated president. He has personally seen what sacrifice has to be made in order to be President of the United States. Once Matt decided to run for president as a third party candidate, he decides that his sole obligation is to the American people and making America great again. There is no room in his mind for a romantic relationship of any kind. Is Charlotte the woman who can change his mind?

".... a redheaded, blue-eyed scheduler with a gentle heart and true love for her country keeps hammering in my head. For the first time, I wonder what it would be like to reach the heights I aspire to with someone by my side."
~ Katy Evan, Mr. President (White House Series #1)

I smiled the entire way through this book. I loved all of the little touches that Matt kept giving Charlotte. All the little glances that they gave each other. It made me completely swoon. He was so gentle with her, it made my insides melt.

"She grounds me. She obsesses me. She fuels me. This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived. She's what I never knew I wanted and have discovered that I need."
~ Katy Evan, Mr. President (White House Series #1)

Warning!!! Mr. President ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I wish I would have known that it was part of a series and not a standalone prior to starting it. But knowing how it ends would not stop me from recommending it to you at all. On the contrary, run and vote for Matthew Hamilton RIGHT NOW!!!

"Do you realize how difficult it is to give the last of the campaign my all when I know that if I win, I lose you?"
~ Katy Evan, Mr. President (White House Series #1)

Thank you Katy for giving us a break during this long political season. This was my favorite read out of all of your books. As I stated before, I am so looking forward to Commander In Chief. Matt & Charlotte need their HEA.

Holidays conjure up many thoughts- long, chilly nights, snuggled up by the fire, bare feet tucked under the one you love. Some are hallmarks of summer when skin is warmed by more than the sun. There is the after Thanksgiving dinner nightcap, as the smooth, sultry burn of whiskey warms your chest, rendering your limbs heavy or include lazy kisses and wandering hands beneath your best dress on a romantic Valentine's Day date.

But sometimes, Grandma gets boozed up and passes out at the table, your brother gets caught rubbing one out under the fireworks, your kids catch mommy kissing Santa (and not on the lips), your special new toy winds up in the wrong gift bag, a goat steals and wears your sexy new thong and watching the ball drop takes on a whole new meaning.

In other words, the holidays can be magical, but sometimes, they're also just f*cking awkward.

My marriage seemed perfect from the outside looking in.
People envied me. They wanted my life, wanted to be me.

Mrs Alejandra Gambino.
Wife of Dino Gambino. Daughter of Eduardo Castillo.
Respected. Loved. Mob royalty.

They had no idea of the horrors that lurked behind closed doors.
They didn't know I was at the lowest point a person could reach.

He saved me.
I screwed him over.

Now everybody was after me. My life was forfeit.
It was only a matter of time. I was a dead woman walking.

The question was, who would get to me first?

Belle Aurora is twenty seven years old and was born in the land down under.

At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown's Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance.

Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and humor. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love.

Humorous romance novels.

Kristen Ashley and R.L. Mathewson had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles.

Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February 2013 Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love.

With words.
With writing.
With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.

Friend-Zoned is the first in the Friend-Zoned series. Keep an eye out for this cheeky author.

Meeting him was a fluke. Dating him was a mistake. Watching him become a drug addict put me through hell. Running was my only option.

I'm running from my demons and when I find out she's trying to escape her past, I know what I have to do.

One broken cop. One woman fighting for her life. A fragile love.

Sinister secrets that threaten to tear them apart.

They've been to hell. The hard part will be finding their way back together.

Edwin Allen Mercer I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they've read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty. Miranda Cross All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me. After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction...

One Step CloserOne Step Closer by Kahlen Aymes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kahlen, thank you for publishing this book! Full disclosure... I HATE stepbrother/sister books. There are too many out there that are badly written that when I first heard that One Step Closer was going to be a stepbrother/sister book, I cringed. It has to be the best stepbrother/sister book written. No joke!

I have been a Kahlen Aymes fan from her very first book. Each and every book that she writes continues to get better and better. One Step Closer was the best Kahlen Aymes book that I have ever read! I can't even explain to you the emotions that I have for this book. It's been a week since I finished it, and I still can't put into words my feelings on this book.

Caleb Luxon becomes an only child when his mother passes away. After a few years his father decides to remarry. Along comes Wren Brashill, the daughter of his father's new wife. Caleb hates that his dad remarries. He hates Wren and her mother.

As time goes on, Caleb & Wren form a friendship. As they get older, this friendship turns into attraction for one another. You get the picture...

"Without you... I might have killed myself. You saved me from my mother, helped me have a life, and made me realize I was worth something."
~ Kahlen Aymes, One Step Closer

There is sexual tension between the two of them, and one night changes everything.

Fast forward a few years. Caleb & Wren are bought together once more. The circumstances that bring them together changes their lives forever.

"Wren was his Achilles' heel, but no one knew it, not even Wren."
~ Kahlen Aymes, One Step Closer

There was so much in this book that I loved. The bond that Caleb & Wren have is so special. They wait for years to finally be together. The supporting characters gave the story so much depth and built their relationship into something unbreakable.

"He loved this woman. Loved her so much he couldn't even breathe."
~ Kahlen Aymes, One Step Closer

This story was not about a stepbrother/sister relationship where they have hot sex behind their parents back. This story was a perfect mix of tension, growth, and a passion for each other that went well beyond the physical.

Kahlen, you truly outdid yourself with this one. I cried, smiled, rooted for Caleb & Wren all while smiling throughout this book. Thank you so much for allowing me to fall in love with your work over and over again. I so wish I could reread this book for the first time. It was magical.

blake-sine-teaser-4   Theo took the stairs as quickly as he could. He knew where he was going, but he wasn’t going to think about it. For the first time since he’d gotten home, he didn’t care about his past or figuring out who he’d been. He wanted. He wanted something right now and that felt good. She’d been right. There wasn’t a place for guilt here. He strode up the stairs, her weight comforting in his arms. Yeah, he wasn’t going to think about that either. He was going to enjoy it, not wonder why his body remembered her when his mind would not. “Hey, is everything okay?” Damn it. Case was standing at the top of the stairs, obviously having come out of the privacy rooms. His wife was at his side, her face flushed. Mia had sex hair. Good for them. Red was about to have sex hair, too. Lots of filthy sex hair. “Everything’s great. Night.” Case put a hand on his shoulder. “Whoa. I thought you were going to take this slow, brother.” “If you don’t get your hand off him right this second, Taggart, I am going to ensure that you never have children,” Red said, her eyes narrowing on his brother. “You won’t be able to cock block anyone because you won’t have a damn cock. Am I clear?” Case’s hands came up immediately as though he knew that tone and was not going there. “Trying to help.” “Three is clean and has plenty of condoms. We’re taking a monitor turn up here. I checked all the rooms.” Mia grinned at him. She actually was helpful. “Have fun and we’ll see you at home.” He didn’t bother to look back. Case could give him a lecture later. He wasn’t waiting anymore. He’d waited forever. Even when he couldn’t remember her face, he’d known she was there. He’d felt her, or rather he’d felt her absence. Could he truly be with a woman whose name he couldn’t think without hurting her? It didn’t matter. He wasn’t making those decisions tonight. He was enjoying her. His sub. He was bringing her pleasure and he probably should do a good job of it because his sub was fucking mean. And fragile. He’d seen the moment she’d thought he was rejecting her. He’d watch her skin flush and her body start to turn in on itself. She was such a mix of strength and need. It was intoxicating. He wanted so badly to be the man who gave her what she needed. Affection. Pleasure. Comfort. Love—he wasn’t thinking that word tonight. Nope. Pleasure was way better. He kicked out lightly at the partially open door number three. It looked like Mia had done her job. The room was perfectly clean, the lighting soft and romantic. The best thing about this room though was the complete lack of any of his friends or family being here. It was him and her, and that was exactly what he wanted. No Ian. No Li. No Kai asking them hundreds of questions. Him and her and the night. He tossed her on the bed and stood back, looking down at her. “Tell me why you thought I was rejecting you.” The instant she hit the bed, she was up on her knees. So graceful. So deadly. What the hell was this woman like out in the field? She moved like a predator, but the look on her face was pure sarcasm. “Uhm, your words. That’s what sealed it for me. ‘I don’t want to do this’ is generally considered a rejection.” Somehow she managed to put an unsaid “dumbass” on the end of her sentences. Not all of them. She’d been perfectly sweet most of the night, but she could turn it on when she wanted to. “I didn’t mean that. When I said the words, I watched you change. Why? You’re good at slapping people down. I wouldn’t have said that until today.” “Because I’ve been careful around you,” she admitted. “Why? You think I’m delicate?” Her lips curled up. “I don’t think you’re delicate. I think I’m a lot to take, but I also am starting to believe I was wrong. You like me rough.” “I like you a lot.” More than he could ever tell her.   blake-sine-teaser-2   mandm2016_rackcard-4inx9in-back-v1

Levi's BlueLevi's Blue by M. Leighton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When M. Leighton reaches out to you and asks you if you want to be part of her upcoming release, do you say no? Hell no you don't!!! My Girlfriend's Couch was so excited to be part of Levi's Blue release. This book was so special. There is not a book out there like it. Trust me!

I loved the Dear Reader note that M. Leighton wrote at the beginning of Levi's Blue. It set the stage for the book. It was evident that M. Leighton put her heart and soul into this book. It was raw, thought provoking, and a love story that will remain in my heart for some time to come. M. Leighton wrote, "Levi's Blue has brought me home. Levi and Evie have brought me back to the place where I belong, doing what I love, the way that I love doing it." That was clear with every word that she wrote!

I am not going to talk too much about the storyline. Michelle asked that we don't give too much away in fear that the book might be ruined for others. I am going to honor that request. I feel like the book has been well laid out in the blurb. I will tell you that I loved Levi and his growth throughout this book.

"She brought out something in me. Something real. Around her, I'm the me I want to be."
~ M. Leighton, Levi's Blue

He changes not only his life, but Evie's as well.

"Levi Michaelson doesn't play around. When he wants something, that something doesn't stand a chance against him. Just like I know I don't stand a chance against him. The thing is, I don't want to anymore. I'm more than ready to let him have whatever he wants."
~ M. Leighton, Levi's Blue

There is nothing more satisfying to a reader than to see the main characters grow throughout a book. For me a book is perfect when the main characters find the HEA as well. Levi's Blue was the perfect balance of push and pull with resolution at the end. I am speechless. It has taken me awhile to write this review and put into words how much I enjoyed it. I hope you all give this book a chance and that you all love it as much as I did.

"My life is Evan happy. My future is Michaelson bright. And my skies are Levi's blue. Nothing but Levi's blue."
~ M. Leighton, Levi's Blue

Honor (The Breaking Point, #1)Honor by Jay Crownover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jay Crownover has written the most brilliant, messed up series that I have read in a long time. The Point is a place where it's good to be bad, and bad to be good. People are all about surviving life at any cost.

I have read all of Jay Crownover's books. She is best known for her Marked Men series and her spin off series, Saints of Denver. I had her Welcome to the Point series marked on my TBR list for awhile now. When I signed up to read and review Honor, I never thought that I would actually be given the opportunity to read it. I screamed out loud when it appeared on my kindle. THANK YOU JAY!!! So that prompted me start with Better When He's Bad (Welcome to the Point #1) and work my way through each and every book. Welcome to the Point & The Breaking Point is unlike any other series that I have ever read! It's dark, full of twists and turns, and love stories between the characters that will remain in your heart forever.

Honor is the first book in The Breaking Point series. But it really is the fourth book in Jay's Welcome to the Point series. I know it sounds confusing, but trust me on this on. We first meet Nassir Gates & Keelyn Foster (aka, Honor) in Better When He's Bold (Welcome to the Point #2).

"Nassir is like a wild animal that escaped from the zoo. He's amazing to look at, fascination to watch, but I would prefer that bars and glass separate us. There is nothing soft about that man."
~ Jay Crownover, Better When He's Bold (Welcome to the Point #2)

As the series moves on, we get glimpses of Nassir & Honor. I loved that! It made things fall into place for me when I started Honor (The Breaking Point #1). So that brings me to one of my main call outs for you all... DO NOT read Honor without reading the ENTIRE Welcome to the point series. You will be so lost. In my opinion, Honor is not a standalone. There are way too many moving parts throughout this series that you will miss if you start with Honor.

Nassir Gates is "the devil in an Armani suit." who is in love with Keelyn Foster. Keelyn is a dancer at Spanky's, a club that Nassir owns. Honor is Keelyn's stage name. It becomes clear that Keelyn is Nassir's weakness. They have never even kissed and yet he will move heaven and earth for her.

Keelyn Foster is determined to get out of The Point and make a life on her own.

"Of all the things I have left behind, he was the one I had tried hardest to forget."
~ Jay Crownover, Honor (The Breaking Point #1)

Nassir is not going to let Keelyn get away.

"She was my equal in every single way."
~ Jay Crownover, Honor (The Breaking Point #1)

As the two of them fight their burning attraction for each other, things heat up in The Point.

The thing that I love about this series is this constant battle between evil vs. evil. Or you could look at it as survival vs. evil. Either way, there is a lot of action in The Point. And yet the romance stories that Jay creates for her characters are priceless. They capture your heart. You find yourself rooting for them throughout the series.

I also loved reading the personal growth that both Nassir & Keelyn have. Their journey was a long one to get to where they are at the end of the book.

I will tell you that I would not want to ever live in The Point. But I don't mind visiting once in awhile. Nassir Gates can protect me anytime.

"You aren't in my world, Key, you are the center of it. You always have been."
~ Jay Crownover, Honor (The Breaking Point #1)

Thank you Jay for creating this wonderful world to get lost in. I enjoyed my visit to The Point. I can't wait to go back for another visit here soon.

Epic Love (Epic Fail, #3)Epic Love by Trudy Stiles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Trudy Stiles Forever Family & her Epic Fail series have been on my TBR list for a long time. Full disclosure, I have not read any of Trudy Stiles work prior to diving in head first to her Epic Fail series. What was I thinking?!?! I should have started reading her books long before her Epic Fail series was released!!!

As a blogger, we have opportunities to read books prior to release. When Epic Love was came to us, I knew that I wanted this book in my life! I then binge read the entire Epic Fail series. I am in epic love with this series!!! I think that Epic Love is the best book in the series thus far!

In Epic Love we read Heath Strickland & Noelle Durand's love story. Their story was unlike any other story that I have ever read. It was simply EPIC! It's the only word that came to mind once I was done. It made me cry. It made me root for them. It hit every checklist that makes a great love story.

I am not going to rehash the story because I feel like the blurb that Trudy Stiles has for Epic Love is completely fitting and appropriate. I will tell you that this is a 5 star book for me. It took my breath away.

Once you are done with Epic Love, make sure that you go check out Heath & Noelle's photo album --- http://trudystiles.com/photo-album/

The only thing that I wish that I would have done differently was to read Trudy Stiles' Forever Family series. Throughout the Epic Fail series Trudy references to events that happened in the Forever Family series. Know that I will be going back and reading the Forever family series. I am excited to dive in here soon.

Trudy, I can't wait to read Epic Holiday!!! I hope that it comes out in time for me to enjoy the Epic Fail family for Christmas. You have a new fan for life! Thank you for this epic read.

Cuffed & Claimed Box SetCuffed & Claimed Box Set by Lori King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to tell you, I am not an Anthology girl at all! I am, I really hate them and do not understand the purpose of them. BUT, when I say that Cuffed & Claimed would be coming out, I wanted to be part of its release. I am a proud LEOW (Law Enforcement Officer's Wife). With Cuffed & Claimed priced only 99 cents, and all the proceeds go to support the families of Law Enforcement killed in the line of duty, I needed to be part of this!!!

In this Anthology, you will enjoy the following books by the following authors ----

Her Hearts Protector by: Caitlyn O'Leary
Arresting Submission by: Daisy Philips
Delta Rogue by: Elle Boon
In His Custody by: Fiona Archer
Street Justice by: Holly S. Roberts
Yes, Sir by: Jenika Snow
The Lawman’s Lover by: Lori King
House Arrest by:Lynne St James
Seducing the Detective by: Sherri Hayes
Dirty Liars by: Sydney Lea

If you asked me to pick a favorite, I simply could not answer. What is there not to love about hot LEOs?!?!? I mean, I should know. I have my very own at home every night.

What I liked about Cuffed & Claimed is that I was exposed to new authors that I had not read before. I was pleasantly surprised. More authors for me to enjoy in the future!!! Yay!

Take a chance with this one and help LEOs and their families.

Chandler (Fixed, #5)Chandler by Laurelin Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sometimes I wonder how an author can keep a series fresh and new for the reader. Laurelin Paige managed to keep her Fixed series fresh with Hudson Pierce's little brother, Chandler Pierce.

If you have followed the Fixed series at all, then you MUST read Chandler! He is so different from Hudson. SO DIFFERENT!!! He is a bit more reckless, flirty, more of a womanizer, and very much trying to find his way in the world. He is very much wanting to step out of his older brother's shadow.

There are so many things that I loved about Chandler. His love for his niece... *swoon worthy* Seeing little Mina (Hudson & Laynie's daughter) was a treat!

"Mina and I are tight. A girl wants to be in my world, she has to get that Mina and I are a package deal. I couldn't spend any real time with a woman who didn't understand that."
~ Laurelin Paige, Chandler (Fixed #5)

I also loved how different he was from Hudson. I was not expecting that! Laurelin did a great job writing him!

"I wish I knew what it was about this girl that makes me so completely turned on and intrigued. The mystery confounds me."
~ Laurelin Paige, Chandler (Fixed #5)

Along comes Genevieve Fasbender. She is not the type of girl that I ever guessed Chandler Pierce would have ever ended up with. The dynamics between the two of them was fun to read. Genevieve brings this bad boy to his knees.

"She's amazing and delicious, and even though I endeavor to bring all my women to orgasm, I've never wanted to pleasure one as completely as I want to pleasure her."
~ Laurelin Paige, Chandler (Fixed #5)

Laurelin Paige hit this one out of the park! I hope that the Fixed series continues. The characters in the entire series have a special place in my heart.

shadows_fb_nowavailable     btshadows-amazon-1 From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes another dangerously sexy alpha hero…

The only permanent thing in my life is the ink I put on my clients.

I drift form city to city, in and out of beds, from one tattoo shop to the next.

Every time I start to put down roots, I rip them up.

Until New Orleans.

Until her.

She’s everything I’m not.

Full of fire and life. An innocent where I’m a sinner.

I want to consume her. Protect her. Keep her.

But first, I have to escape from beneath these shadows.

Beneath These Shadows is a STANDALONE romance set in the world of the Beneath series. You DO NOT have to read any other books in the series to enjoy it.

“You ever broken the law before this, Eden?” I expected a quick and unequivocal no, but it didn’t come as fast as I thought it would. “I don’t think so. I mean, I’m sure I have by accident sometime. I’ve jaywalked. But I’m not some kind of criminal.” Well, that makes one of us, I thought. My anger from earlier started to fade and be replaced by the heat of the knowledge that Eden’s naked tits were only inches from my chest, separated by water I could see right through. Last time I’d seen them under her pink bra, she’d been too fucked up for me to take advantage . . . but tonight she was completely sober. I raised my gaze from her chest, expecting her cheeks to be red when she realized I was staring at her nipples, but she wasn’t watching my face. She was staring down at my body. “Like what you see?” That got her attention. Eden jerked her head up to meet my eyes, and the blush colored her skin like I’d timed it. “You’re . . . big.” A booming laugh broke free from my throat at her unexpected response, and her cheeks flamed even brighter. “No, that’s not what I meant. I mean . . . everywhere. Not just, in the . . .” She looked down, then jerked her gaze back to mine. “I’m going to shut up now.” That kind of awkward and fumbling response couldn’t be faked, and protectiveness rose in me again. Eden was no con artist. She was a girl who couldn’t even say the word cock without turning red. “Ain’t no shame in my game.” She reached out a hand and covered my lips with her fingers. “Stop. You’re just making it worse. I wasn’t checking out your . . . package. I mean, I did before you got in the pool, but that’s only because I thought you’d have underwear on because who doesn’t wear underwear?” The babbling continued, and so did my laughter. Hell, I hadn’t laughed this much since Delilah had given in to a customer’s request and tattooed a flexing veined eggplant cartoon on a client so he could send pictures of it instead of dick pics. Eden pulled her hand back and covered her face. “I’m going to stop talking now. I seriously can’t be trusted to say anything that’s not completely humiliating when you’re standing this close to me naked.” “I disagree, and since I’m not ready to get out and put my clothes on, you’re going to have to deal with it.” She mumbled something under her breath. “Come again?” Eden pressed her lips together for a beat before saying, “I don’t know how to deal with it. This isn’t something I’ve ever dealt with before.” A crazy thought popped into my brain. “Are you a virgin?” If there was a red brighter than fire engine, that was the color of Eden’s cheeks. “No! Of course not. Really. I’ve touched a dick before. I mean, just the one, but it still counts. Well, I didn’t really touch it. Except, you know, inside me. Oh my God, I’m just going to shut up now.” Realization dawned on me as her babbled protest silenced. “You’ve had sex with one guy? Once? How old are you?” Eden turned to bolt, but instead smashed her tits into my arm. I stepped close enough so that only an inch of water separated us. Her gaze went skyward. “This is so humiliating.” That’s where she and I had differing opinions. “Why? Because you haven’t fucked every guy you’ve ever met? What’s wrong with that?” Eden’s gaze snapped down to mine and her brows drew into slashes. “Hey, whoa now. You can toss that double-standard crap right in the trash. What if I had screwed every guy I ever met? Would that make me less of a person? I mean, it’s not like you probably haven’t been with dozens and dozens of women. I’m not judging you. Except for maybe that Kitty girl. I mean, really? You’ve got to have some standards.” My laughter boomed out again across the courtyard. “Cupcake, just because I can get most any pussy I want, doesn’t mean I do it.” “Still, double standards are—” When she started on another tirade, I decided to silence her the best way I knew how. I leaned down and covered her lips with mine.

Sinfully attractive playboy Nolan Zimmerman was born into a wealthy family, but maintains grueling hours to keep the reputation of his grandmother’s beloved bar as one of the hottest spots in New York. Sexy and independent Sofia Kendall has made her way to the top as a high powered attorney, and she doesn’t have time for men in general. Upon first meeting several years ago, the circumstances didn’t allow Sofia and Nolan to explore the initial spark of chemistry. And as fate would have it, their chances of starting something doesn’t look too favorable the second time around either. Once they decide they can’t be anything more than friends, is there no going back, or will their unrelenting desire for each other be too strong to resist?

Warning: This book is filled with serious angst and star-crossed lovers. If you’re looking for a sexy tale with steamy love scenes, sit back and enjoy the story.

Though we’ve met before, and even spent a few days comforting each other while Sharlo was in a coma, Nolan Zimmerman still has the power to makes me nervous as hell. Not many people have that affect on me outside of appellate court judges. I’m naturally drawn to his broad features and dark complexion just as much as his well-toned body and undeniable charm.
He's not as cocky as I remember him being the first time we met, when he accidentally pushed me headfirst into a bush, but there’s still an arrogance that comes with his type: filthy rich and panty-soaking attractive. The way he stalked over to us was like watching a jungle cat in action. I shiver with the fantasy of witnessing all those muscles coiled and flexed to strike.
There’s a complex story waiting to be told behind those russet-colored eyes, studying me like I’m something of interest, and I suddenly have a peeked interest to hear it. Between the allure of his expression, his neatly trimmed beard, the Rolex on his wrist, and his thick torso strained beneath a designer button-down, I’m forced to remind myself why I chose to dive head-first into my career and forego a romance of any kind beyond the occasional tryst.
The kind of men I’m drawn to have always been trouble. The kind of trouble that can ruin my very existence. And Nolan doesn’t seem to be an exception.
Thankfully the brunette vixen wrapped around his side claims his body in a way that makes it crystal clear he’s unavailable, though I don’t miss how Nolan’s broad shoulders stiffen with her touch, as if he’s repelled.
“I do hope you’re not asking who I am,” Sharlo tells the woman, turning to secretly roll her eyes my way. “As unforgettable as it may be, we have met before. Several times when you were drunk off your tits.”
The woman’s narrowed gaze stays on Sharlo long enough to create a wall of tension between them. Bitch much? Sharlo doesn’t seem the slightest bit intimated or ready to give in anytime soon, reminding me why I’m glad she’s going to be a part of our family. I don’t have time for women who can’t stand up for themselves.
Nolan gestures my way. “This is Sofia Kendall. She’s Evelyn Walker and James Kendall’s sister.”
The woman gives me a once-over, sneering. “You’re related to Charlie Walker?”
“That’s generally how it works when your sibling marries someone,” I answer with as much snark as possible. “Even with rockstars.”
With a small grin that pops dimples into his cheeks, Nolan’s eyes flip from me back to the woman. “What are you doing here, Avery? In your last text you said you were calling it a night since you have to leave early in the morning.”
“The apartment is too quiet without you there,” Avery answers, pursing her lips and lifting one shoulder. “Besides, it’s an eight hour flight to Milan. I can sleep on the way.”
She’s a spindly thing with graceful features, almond-shaped eyes, and lustrous dark hair that flows down to her elbows in perfectly executed beach waves. I recognize her navy dress from Dior’s latest line and she wears the same red-souled Louboutins I bought from a second-hand store last spring. Without having to ask, I’m certain she’s flying to Milan because she’s a model. Based on her wardrobe and striking looks, I’d guess she’s a highly successful one at that.
My stomach roils with the alternative, that Nolan showers her with expensive gifts. Before I started to gain traction as a respected lawyer, I found creative ways to provide myself with a designer wardrobe so I’d be taken seriously in the professional world. I can’t fathom expecting expensive things to be gifted to me by a man. Even though Nolan’s sinfully good looks and family fortune would allow him to have his pick of any woman, I never imagined he’d put up with the entitled type.
“I won’t make it out of here before you have to leave,” Nolan tells her, pushing his fingers inside the pockets of his designer jeans as his tongue appears to wet his lips. Every movement he makes is controlled and deliberate, knocking his sex appeal up another notch. “It’d be best if you’d go back to your place.”
Avery sticks her lip out in a pout that makes me inwardly groan. “You’re not taking me to the airport? I’m going to be gone for three whole weeks!”
I subtly look away, rolling my eyes. Is this woman for real?
Frustration oozes from Nolan’s hard expression when I dare to glance back his way.
“Excuse us…I’ll be right back,” he says. Next thing I know, he’s leading Avery away by her hand, and unsightly pangs of jealousy are stabbing at my insides.
